Baby Sylvia

Welcome to Baby Sylvia's Session. I had so much fun with this cutie pie and her wonderful mommy Paula. Words can not describe how beautiful this baby is and how beautiful her room adorned in two of my favorite colors Pink and Purple. My jaw dropped when I first came up to her room as the walls were beautifully painted with murals. There are definately more photos to come in Baby Sylvia's Slideshow so stay tuned for that. In the meanwhile take a look at these teasers.

I LOVE this moment caught, those chubby cheeks and tiny lips; so adorable!  :-)

Baby Sylvia pretending to be shy.

I love this shot.  A picture says more than a thousand words!

And this one....

Beautiful.

I love layering my shots it always adds interest to images...right, Carla?

I couldn't resist the bum and feet so sweet.

This was a take-out.  The bonnet kinda slid forward but I thought it was such a cute capture.

Getting hungry.

Thanks for having me.  I enjoyed capturing you Sweet Sylvia.  :-)

Happy 70th Mr. Traussi

I was really honored when Brett contacted me and asked if I could capture his father's 70th birthday celebration. Brett did an AMAZING job of organizing this touching event. He contacted me on Wednesday for Sunday's event. He coordinated this beautiful and successful celebration in a matter of days. He must of obtained these skills from his business experience. If your ever on vacation or just live in the NYC area you should make reservations for one of Mr. Traussi's restaurants; especially if you haven't tried French Cuisine cooked by a top internationally known Chef Daniel Boulud. Check out the website by clicking here.

We started out the day at the town's green for some family portraits. Here are a few to share.

Mr. & Mrs. Traussi

Such a beautiful family. After many family shots (more images to come in a slide-show stay tuned for that) We headed over to the celebration.

The details were GORGEOUS!

A few more portraits

The cake Mr. Traussi ordered was so beautiful and smelled so good. Everyone joined in to sing Happy Birthday.

I couldn't stop shooting these cuties.

Everyone gathered outside the restaurant. What a great turn out. It didn't take long to realize Mr. Traussi is a special guy.

Thanks everyone!

Happy 70th Mr. Traussi!

Carissa & Steve - Married

I had an awesome opportunity to shoot with Anthony DeCarlo last weekend and am so glad I took it.  Carissa and Steve are such a fun loving, outgoing, up for anything couple.  I am so glad to have met this couple and their wedding party.  My stomach hurt from all the laughing I did with them and their friends and family.  I started the morning by meeting up with Steve, his father and groomsmen in Meriden.

Here is a shot of Steve as calm as can be.

A shot of Carissa's gorgeous dress.

Now, Steve was so relaxed and running on time.  We headed out of Meriden and to Branford to Make it to the church by 9:00 AM.  That plan came to a screeching halt when we realized their was a road race on the same street where the church was.  Steve remained calm as can be.

Here is Carissa's and Steve's first look at each other.

The church had such beautiful stained glass and architectural details.

One of my most favorite things to do at weddings is to grab shoe and ring shots.  I had a hard time deciding which I liked best ;-)

Beautiful fall colors adorned the Country House in East Haven where the reception/dance were held.

Carissa's dress was absolutely GORGEOUS as well as the flowers.

 A quiet moment together.

Taking time to smell the flowers.

ADORABLE!!!

Such an entertaining and skilled DJ!

First dance.

Last dance, lol.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Please don't be shy.  Say hi :-)

It's always exciting to hear you've won something especially when it doesn't come in the mail in the form of a fake $10,000 check.  I got an email today from Jacob "Jake" Bergmeier saying he had a surprise for me.  How exciting that I left him his 500th comment on his blog.

You could read all about it on his blog here.

I've Been Tagged!

I've Been Tagged!
My friend Erik "blog tagged" me with a book meme. Here are the rules:

- Grab the nearest book.
- Open to page 56.
- Find the fifth sentence.
- Post the next two to five sentences in your blog with these instructions.
- Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one - pick the CLOSEST.
- Tag five other people to do the same.

I happen to be in the kitchen when I opened up Eric's blog, lol. So I grabbed Cooking for Kids. Hey I could of cheated and walked up to my office but I didn't., lol.

Cook and stir onion in butter in large saucepan on medium-high heat until tender.
Stir in water, broth potatoes and pepper; heat thoroughly.

Add Velveeta; stir on low heat until melted. Serve with bacon bits, Breakstones or Knudsen sour cream and chopped fresh parsley, if desired.

So if the following peeps want to join in . . . tag you're it!

Ten Eyck Tuesdays are so ROCKIN'

I am SO PRIVILEGED to have been part of the first group for Carla Ten Eyck's Super Tuesdays!  It was an awesome day filled with instruction, coaching, persistence, determination, to achieve your vision no matter what the situation is.  We started the day taking notes what are the elements that create a great image?  Wanna know what they are......sign up for the workshop space is VERY LIMITED and will be filled quickly.  With this not being a large workshop with a shooting frenzy that you walk away wondering what you really learned; it's obvious that the workshop is one of the best choices one can make.   For the October Ten Eyck super Tuesday, Mrs. Robin Dini was our gorgeous model along with her sweet lovin' hubby Mr. Frank Dini a.k.a. "The Frankness"

The one and only Mrs. Carla Ten Eyck rockin' Ten Eyck Colors!

I loved the idea of showing off their hands and of course their rings :-)

Yes, Val loves shooting shoes!  Especially shoes with special meaning.  Today marks Robin and Frank's 3rd Anniversary.  Robin wore the same white sneakers on her wedding day.  So I guess you can call this their anniversary shoot.  Happy Anniversary Frank and Robin!

"The Frankness"

Mrs. Robin Dini

When we walked into this cool white tunnel I immediately envisioned this shot with Frank's guitar.  I almost gave up because I just wasn't getting what I had envisioned.  Carla pushed me to keep communicating with Frank so finally with my guidance Frank positioned his fingers PERFECTLY for my shot!  THANKS CARLA and FRANK!!! :-)

These highway overpass tunnel was so cool to shoot!  My mind was all over with ideas.  Thank goodness I didn't have to wait long for my turn since there was only two others in the class.

Here was another challenge.  High noon sun open boring park, oops did I just type that?  Well don't worry because everyone at this workshop brought it, thanks to Carla's coaching.  This is a scenario where Frank and Robin met playing volleyball.  This is how I incorporated that into the session.

While walking to different locations I took advantage of nature and elements to shoot for texture.  I used the same texture in some of these shots.  I LOVE how it worked for the moment above.

I thought it would be fun to have Robin pull Frank towards her with her scarf in such a way that we could incorporate her ring.  They were SO MUCH FUN!!!  Hope Carla continues to find good models for these workshops ;-)

Carla set up this shot. She  was shooting directly in front of Robin.  As I was standing off on her left side I saw Robin's hair fall forward and didn't need to give catching this shot a second thought.

When we got back to the studio to begin our editing Carla's tykes (Eyck Tykes), Georgie and Jack came out of the house running so excited to see their mommy.  It was such a great feeling; one that makes you smile.  I know I don't have any shots of me with my children because I am always behind the camera so I LOVE to shoot other photographers with there families.   Above is Jack with Carla and below is Georgie.

When we got back while we were editing Carla cooked us up a MEAN Tortilla soup, beans and rice and corn muffins with a little help from her munchkin Georgie.  Everything was SO DELICIOUS!!!

I KNOW Carla has something to good to pass up for the November session so really what are you waiting for?; sign up!!!!

Married: Nontas and Cheryl

I had the pleasure of capturing Cheryl & Nontas' special day last Sunday.  Although the skies were a little gloomy it would not fade the beaming ray of lights glowing from the love Cheryl and Nontas' share for one another.  The morning started at the beauty salon where Cheryl was having her hair styled.
Her hair accessories were gorgeous and her hair was beautifully done.

She was sporting this cute "Soon to be Mrs. *****" sweater.

Anyone that knows me; knows I LOVE SHOE SHOTS!!! I was lovin' how the dangling crystals on the lamp complimented the sparkling rhinestone shoes.

STUNNING!

Fall weddings are so beautiful.  The colors chosen were so beautiful.  This gorgeous bouquet was assembled by Flowers by Margaret.

Nontas making final adjustments before seeing his bride at the church.

Isn't this ceiling ridiculously gorgeous!  Yep, I laid on my back for this one.  I was overly-thrilled to learn the ceremony would take place at St. Barbara's in Orange, CT.  I distinctly remember what beautiful images Rob Trenske of RJT pictures captured there.  His images really inspired me.
Crossing the crowns a very meaningful part of the ceremony.

"You may now kiss the Bride"

GQ'd

Many special moments in the church.

Outside the church as well.  Here the bride and groom were getting ready to be whisked away by Phyllis of Central Park South Limousines.  She provided some of the greatest service I have every seen by a Limousine company.

I love to watch the bride a groom while listening to the best man's/maid of honor speech.

Their first dance.

So now that they are officially Mr & Mrs. Cheryl won't be need a "Soon to be Mrs. ****" sweater.  I vote a Val McCormick Photography sweater!

Special thanks to Paul and Krystal of Studio Foto and Noel of Troy Photography for steering Cheryl & Nontas my way.  They were most definitely a "perfect match"!!!
