Jennie & Carl - Married

I had an awesome opportunity to team shoot with the talented Eric Foley at Harkness Mansion.  The grounds there are absolutely incredible and you literally can shoot ALL DAY LONG!  Luckily I will have that opportunity soon so stay tuned for that......I love team shooting!  Having two perspectives from two photographers that have a passion for photography will make for variety of images.

If you have been following my work then you will know I am all over DETAIL shots!

I love this wrought iron gate that lead into the gardens.

Isn't Jennie GORGEOUS?!!!

Her flowers were beautiful too.

I had a hard time choosing a favorite ring shot so I posted my top three choices ;-)

Hands are so personal and I feel they really tell a story.  One day her entire hand grasped only the tip of his finger.

Oh, yeah... I hid behind my camera.  I always get choked up during the parent dances.

What a beautiful moment.

So as we sat down to eat dinner, I looked over and saw the gorgeous sky.  I grabbed my camera to take some scenic shots.  As I was shooting; one of Jennie's bridesmaids walked up behind me.  I kindly asked if she would like her picture taken.  I then ran...not walk, not jog.....but ran back to show Eric (time is limited with a sky like that!).  We then grabbed the bride and groom and well, check out Eric's blog to see that amazing shot.

What are you doing on the night of Nov 16, 2008?

Well, I know where I will be and I hope to see you there.

When the generous Kellie Steeves of the Body Shoppe Salon and the Oxford Academy contacted me to ask for my help with this benefit show I could'nt say no. The Red Carpet Glitz & Glam Show will take place at the Strand Theater, 165 Bank St. in Seymour at 7:00PM. Proceeds will benefit Mia Zito, a five year old who is battling stage 4 Melanoma.

After reading Mia's story it truly broke my heart. I LOVE babies and children! They honestly are so innocent. I fill up at the thought of someone so innocent having to battle something so serious at such a young age. I am filling up as I am writing this for you to read. How could I not want to do something to help out. If you aren't near by or can't make it out to the benefit please stop by Mia's blog and show some blog love....pretty please.

‘Glitz & Glam’ show to aid Valley child

SEYMOUR — The red carpet treatment. That’s what all who attend a fundraising hair fashion show this month at the Strand Theater can expect.

Proceeds will benefit Mia Zito, 5, a Bungay School kindergartner who is undergoing treatment for advanced melanoma.

Kellie Steeves, administrator and owner of the Oxford Academy of Hair Design in Seymour, said she, her staff and students are planning a “Glitz & Glam” benefit at 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at the movie theater, 165 Bank St.

She wants people to feel they are going to a special event. Photographer Val McCormick will be on hand to photograph the models and guests as they arrive on the red carpet in front of the theater.

The photos will be posted online, Steeves said, and proceeds from sales of the photos will be donated to the benefit.

“I’ve never met Mia, but I wanted to do something to help someone in the community,” Steeves said. “People have really come together for this.”

One of her hairdressing students, Samantha Allard, has created a 20-minute slide show that tells Mia’s story and describes hair fashions. It will be shown before the fashion show. Steeves said Carousel Gardens Restaurant of Seymour will donate catering services.

Mia, whom Steeves called “the star of the show,” will model with other girls in the age 5-8 category.

This is the third annual “Glitz & Glam” benefit that Steeves has organized. The first benefited the Children’s Hospital at Yale-New Haven Hospital, she said, and the second one was a benefit for Sydney Bartone of Derby, who died last November at age 7 after a battle with neuroblastoma.

Mia’s mother, Christine Zito, said Mia “is doing fabulous” and is enjoying school.“It’s very kind and very generous” of Steeves to stage the show, she said.Louis Vayas will serve as DJ, and a special guest is expected, Steeves said.

Donations of $20 are requested, but any amount will be welcomed. For information, call the Oxford Academy of Hair Design, 888-9075.

Baby Sylvia

Welcome to Baby Sylvia's Session. I had so much fun with this cutie pie and her wonderful mommy Paula. Words can not describe how beautiful this baby is and how beautiful her room adorned in two of my favorite colors Pink and Purple. My jaw dropped when I first came up to her room as the walls were beautifully painted with murals. There are definately more photos to come in Baby Sylvia's Slideshow so stay tuned for that. In the meanwhile take a look at these teasers.

I LOVE this moment caught, those chubby cheeks and tiny lips; so adorable!  :-)

Baby Sylvia pretending to be shy.

I love this shot.  A picture says more than a thousand words!

And this one....

Beautiful.

I love layering my shots it always adds interest to images...right, Carla?

I couldn't resist the bum and feet so sweet.

This was a take-out.  The bonnet kinda slid forward but I thought it was such a cute capture.

Getting hungry.

Thanks for having me.  I enjoyed capturing you Sweet Sylvia.  :-)

Happy 70th Mr. Traussi

I was really honored when Brett contacted me and asked if I could capture his father's 70th birthday celebration. Brett did an AMAZING job of organizing this touching event. He contacted me on Wednesday for Sunday's event. He coordinated this beautiful and successful celebration in a matter of days. He must of obtained these skills from his business experience. If your ever on vacation or just live in the NYC area you should make reservations for one of Mr. Traussi's restaurants; especially if you haven't tried French Cuisine cooked by a top internationally known Chef Daniel Boulud. Check out the website by clicking here.

We started out the day at the town's green for some family portraits. Here are a few to share.

Mr. & Mrs. Traussi

Such a beautiful family. After many family shots (more images to come in a slide-show stay tuned for that) We headed over to the celebration.

The details were GORGEOUS!

A few more portraits

The cake Mr. Traussi ordered was so beautiful and smelled so good. Everyone joined in to sing Happy Birthday.

I couldn't stop shooting these cuties.

Everyone gathered outside the restaurant. What a great turn out. It didn't take long to realize Mr. Traussi is a special guy.

Thanks everyone!

Happy 70th Mr. Traussi!
